NASHVILLE, Tenn. – April 17, 2025 – Vibronyx, Inc., a veteran-owned analytics technology and services company, today announced it has been awarded a modification to its existing Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase III contract (Contract No. SP4701‑24‑C‑0050) by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). This modification focuses on developing an AI-powered prototype solution to extend the capabilities of the Vibronyx Digital Supply Chain Twin platform into new procurement use cases for DLA Troop Support’s Clothing & Textiles (C&T) supply chain. This initiative expands Vibronyx’s successful SBIR-driven partnerships with the DLA and the broader Department of Defense community.
Addressing the Complexity of a Critical Supply Chain
The C&T supply chain equips every U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, and Marine—from basic training through deployments and ceremonial roles. Annually, it procures over 8,000 distinct items, managing more than 50,000 individual line items that include uniforms, footwear, protective gear, flags, religious items, and tents. In fiscal year 2023, C&T managed procurement obligations totaling $1.67 billion, supporting a vast industrial base crucial to national defense. This operational scale, combined with stringent readiness requirements, makes C&T among the most complex procurement environments managed by the federal government.
Leveraging Innovation for Procurement Optimization
In this six-month effort, Vibronyx will develop and deliver an advanced AI-driven prototype that demonstrates feasibility to support enhanced procurement capabilities, including:
- Precise, predictive analytics to anticipate item-level demand, reducing stock-outs and minimizing excess inventory
- Automated sourcing decision-making that ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, such as the Berry Amendment
- Real-time supplier performance insights, including capacity, quality, and delivery reliability
- Simulation of procurement scenarios to reduce lead times and bolster surge capacity
The resulting prototype will showcase the ability to rapidly modernize legacy procurement processes through intelligent automation and advanced analytics.
Executive Perspective
“Clothing & Textiles has an essential mission to keep our nation’s warfighters equipped and mission-ready, yet many procurement practices are hindered by outdated systems,” stated Clay Nicholas, Founder and Chairman of Vibronyx. “Our AI-powered solution, building on our proven Digital Supply Chain Twin technology, will significantly enhance the agility and efficiency of DLA procurement, ultimately delivering faster, smarter supply chain decisions and outcomes.”
